How should laptops be used in school?
Laptops should be used for more than just handing in virtual assignments. They should be used for research, communication amongst students, and maybe even communication with other schools. To put it short, think of the laptops as machines with endless possibilities, instead of a little PC with a browser and a text editor.
How has your first couple weeks of high school turned out?
The first couple of weeks of school have turned out pretty good actually. To be honest, it doesn't seem like it's gotten much harder or different (besides the netbooks). Basically, here's how I see it: same people, same school, somewhat different curriculum. As for the changes brought on by the laptops, they have helped many students, and confused others. I'm sure some of the staff members are slightly annoyed by the student's ignorance so far, but I'm sure by the end of this trimester everyone will have gotten the basics down (or a little more than that like I have).
The implementation of the one-to-one laptops has definitely changed the way teachers and students are expected to teach and learn in the classroom. You are right, there are some kinks that need to be smoothed out, but that will come with patience and time.
